Bobbing for apples - Look around your home for large, clear vases. They do not all have to be the same size or style. Pick up a bag of granny smith or other green apples at your local grocery store. It does not matter what kind but a bright green will be the most dramatic. Fill each vase with a varying amount of water. Place a few apples in each vase. They will float near the top. This requires very little artistic talent but looks very sophisticated.
Personalized Vases: Another popular vase present is a personalized vase. These thoughtful vases allow you to add your own sentiment to create a completely unique vase. You can choose from a simple one-line message, or write your own poem - perfect for any romantic occasion.
If you are like most people I know, it seems as though you just can't avoid glass jars. From jelly to mayonnaise to pickles, so many household goods are packaged in jars that it can actually be easy to overlook them. Of course most people use the contents of the jars and then set them out for recycling. But recycling your glass doesn't mean that they have to be ground up and destroyed - there are a variety of ways to reuse them, and one creative idea is to use your old jars as vases.
Fist, you must have an idea already at the back of your mind on the design and appearance of your vase. Decide for a color scheme that you would want to start on. After choosing a color, you can now start to pour the sand on the glass vases. To avoid messing the place, you can use a funnel for easy transfer and pouring of the sand materials to the vase. In case you want to achieve a creative and unique design, you can also try to one color of sand by sections, pouring one color of sand after the other. For added beauty, you can also drop random things in to the vase like small stones, pebbles, cute little shells and other small objects that you would want to place in the vase. After pouring down the sand, you can now close the top of the vase. In doing such you might have to use a sealant for this step. For a more embellishing effect, you can also add colored sands to the sealant to give it a cute finish. You can also adorn it with little shells and stones for added effect. After sealing the top, you can now be proud of what you have done. In just a few simple steps, you have already come up with a beautiful sand art glass vase that you can use as a decoration at home or even as a gift for someone dear to you.
